His artwork spans several genres: mountain modern, architectural, western, and nordic. He is inspired by clean lines juxtaposed with the movement, patterns, live edge and natural expressions of timber.

The Whitefish Art Festival will be the first weekend of July 3-5, 2026 in Whitefish Montana. It will be held in the depo park next to the train station. A beautiful location, it will be a wonderful show.

Gray focuses on the unnoticed, believing that what surrounds us has more to teach us. He photographs abstract to realist pictures of nature, details, landscapes. His exploration and travel has taken him to many western forests, majestic mountains, and sprawling prairies. Using cameras often older than he is, shooting on film, and printing in the darkroom. Each piece matched to its wooden counterpart and is paired with poetry to recreate feeling and set the stage of the place experienced.
